No giving up

Galatians 6:9New International Version (NIV)

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

No Excuses!!  Yes I needed to remind myself of that this morning.  My quads are so sore even using the restroom hurt.  So I knew I need to take a break from the weighted workouts, but what to do.  Well that was actually an easy answer today.  I have 11 more weeks until my next 1/2.  Where I have to have a faster average pace.  So out the door I went.  3.1 miles.  Negative splits for each mile today - YAY!!! and Faster pace then the last time out.  Not fast enough yet, but there are 11 weeks, I just need to get faster each time.
I've got this!!!
Have you seen my fitness facebook page?  Please go give it some love for me.

Get it done!

Whew ok I really felt this Total body cardio fix (21 day fix) work out today.  Today's workout is the first day where I really felt the after effects of the 1/2 marathon coming in to play while trying to keep up the workouts this week.   OF course whose favorite exercise are the surrenders anyways?  Even Autumn said they are the hardest that is why she throws them in at the beginning to knock them out!!!
Today was weird for me I didn't feel like I was really pushing each minute to its fullest so I kept trying to push a little bit harder.   Well lets just say my body let me know I was!!!!
No Excuses!!!  Get it done!

Ice is your friend

When the swelling in your feet will not go down, but you are not willing to miss your workout goals - you make ice your best friend, and tell yourself at least it is a spa with bubbles!!!
There is no pain, just swelling.  The half was only on Sunday so some is to be expected.  Loving the no excuse attitude I have adopted.  Watch out 2016 your about to see some crazy AWESOME changes!!!  Let me know if you are along for this ride with me.

No Excuses

Making progress!! That is right no more excuses.  No more giving up.  One day at a time.  I just finished my 3rd half marathon.  For the last three miles I had to limp my way along.  I had shooting pain up my heal and my hamstring started to cramp - but I wasn't going to not finish.  I did not stop.  Left foot, right foot, left foot, right foot was my mantra for 3 very long miles - but when I got to the crowd at the last 3 tenths of a mile they got a little easier.  As my husband ran head of me every 25 yards or so to push me through I crossed that finish line with a smile on my face.

I am taking that determination with me into this daily fitness journey.  Because every day is really a race for me.  The finish line is accomplishing that days workout and that days eating plan.  I am going to cross it with a smile on my face, even if it is limping my way along until I get there.

I am currently in week 2 of this round of 21 day fix challenge.  When this challenge is up I am taking a leap in my fitness routine and I am going to have a challenge group for P90x3.   I am looking for people to support me in this.  I am open to all comments, encouragement and pushing.  It is no excuse December right into and through 2016!!!

why the long hiatus

Hi - sorry for the long delay.  I had to take a break to find out what my next steps needed to be as things were not working the way they were going.  I am happy to report that I found a road foward and am seeing great results.  I found another lady fighting pcos who has had great results and I wanted what she had.   After many conversations I jumped on her plan
- 21 day fix with shakeology.  I am now on round 3 week 2.  I have officially lost 10 pounds and total inches lost of 29.25!!  But don't take my word for it - check out the pictures below.

I so believe in this program and product I am looking into becoming a beach body coach.

Update on Jocelyn: she went into the ER last night with high fever.  She had a bad shaking episode and her fever spiked more and pressure dropped.   Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

"Do Something" streak Day 3

What do I mean by "Do Something"?

I am keep the track of the days I "do something". I am not making it specific like walk or run a 1 mile or more, because that gets me in trouble. Stuff happens like tonight where it just was not possible for me to workout till 11 o'clock at night. I would love to go for a run, but it's just not safe for me to go out at this time at night. I do not have a treadmill and my gym is not a 24 hour one. So if I would have set my streak to specific I would have been SOL, but because I have it as "do something" I did the 7 minute workout on here - kicked my but only could do 2 out of the 3 circuits, but I feel great and I have complete day 3!!!

I'm not making a new year's resolution this year - nope I am going to continue on with my fitness and eating goals that I have been working on all year.  They are already turning in to habits and I am fine tuning them on a weekly, sometimes daily basis.   Some of that fine tuning is to "Do Something" and keep track of days in a row I do that for.

Who's with me?

My superhero Miss Jocelyn is having a lot of issues with her stomach.  She is also losing weight and she really can't be losing any more weight, so please keep her in your prayers!   And head over to her page and give her some love and hugs, tell her I sent you https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hope-for-Jocelyn/351637158314602

1/2 Marathon Recap and more

Wow, it has been too long since I gave an update.  I apologize!!!

Well to start I did run my second space coast 1/2 marathon - year 2 down 3 more to go!!!   Up until mile 8.5 I was keeping a pace that was in my plan to finish in under 4 hours, mile 9 I hit my wall (like normal), but was pushing through and only slowed down a minor bit.  By mile 10 I had a shooting pain up my leg through my ankle.  I'm not sure what that was all about, but because I was better by later that night I believe my shoes might be right at the end of their life.  I thought I had at at least another 100 miles on them, but I didn't let it stop me.  With my running buddy by myside and my I run 4 buddy Jocelyn in my heart and on my running gear I was bound and determined to finish the last three miles.  I ended up walking most of those last 3 miles instead of the run/walk/run that I normally do.  But I finished 4 hrs 19 min.  Slower than I wanted, but I finished and I finished "running" across the finish line which is mine and my running buddy's goal every time.   As I took that last step over the finish line both my calves went into charlie horses, thankfully two steps away there was a place to sit and calm them down.  I was able to and was able to walk back to the car.  My husband and my youngest step son where at the finish line to cheer me on.  It is so great to see and hear them to push in those last hundred feet or so.

On to the two races I am helping organize - one virtual and one local.

The first is the Virtual race.  It is for my woman's club, GFWC Sebastian River Junior Woman's Club. It is a virtual race - you run your distance, any where you want any time you want and earn a puppy paw print medal.  1/2 the money will go to my club to be used in our community, 1/2 the money will go to Canine Companions for Independence wounded warrior initiative.    See the flyer below.
Second race is the second annual Egg Scramble 5k that I co-organize www.eggscramble5k.com.  This will be held April 4th.  With bounce houses and an egg hunt for the kids after the race.  The money raised for this event goes to my church and to Promise in Brevard - "Our ultimate goal is to provide a much needed housing choice for our cherished family members with special needs. Because every person is different, Promise will have varying levels of support - based on individual needs. With a sense of independence long yearned for, Promise residents will have an inclusive, safe and fun place to live, among neighbors who care. Promise will also include vocational training and employment opportunities with on-site training and continuing education."
