Refocused & Redetermined

I am following Prayfit (prayfit.com) for my workout focus. I am seeing a natrual nutritionalists for my nutrition and supplement needs. I have been an athlete all my life and I have struggled with my weight all my life - not a good combination. Well in the last 2 years I have decided to pick up my running again - I use to be a soccer player so I am no stranger to running. I have run 6 5ks in the last two years and have really enjoyed them. Then I found prayfit - yes! an answer to my quest for strength training and balancing God/Family/Work/workout time. Then I got injured - Planterfacitious so bad they thought I torn the tendon - thankfully I did not. In the process I also aggrivated my knee ( both ACL's have been repaired). Well I took the time off, did nothing for over three months, used that time to focus on my diet. Praise God for the first time in my life I started to see results with just a change in my diet without the aid of exercise! So three days ago I realize my body is healed and I need to get back to working out - I have a 5k run in November and probably some inbetween to train for the race. I didn't want to overdo it again and get back to where I got hurt. I had already done the Prayfit 28 day challenge and had started the 33 day prayfit DVD, before I got injured. The plan: - until at least day 15 just do the Prayfit 33 day DVD challenge in the AM. -In addition walk in the evening with my boyfriend as it happens, but not force it. -Walk no more than 1.5 miles. -Continue with the Eating plan and see if the combo continues the weight loss efforts. So Day 3 is now in the books and though I'm sore it reminds me that it is working and that this is pleasing to God. HERE WE GO, AGAIN! P.S. I am also fighting PCOS (Poly-cycstic-Ovarian-Syndrom) and I struggle with the frustration that adds to my efforts. So the fact that this is God centered is a God send. Everytime I think about giving up I hear Jimmy's voice saying "I just imagine Jesus walking about those moutains to pray and if he can be out of breath and walk up a mountain than so can we" (Paraphrasing) . PCOS is just my moutain - and no matter how long it takes I am going to concure this!

Another Step

So I have started taking advantage of a program work is offering. I have a health coach. She provides support, information, goals and accountability.

I will take all the help I can get!

Happy Holy Week - may God work in you and make changes this holy season.

Wahoo!

I'm down 10 pounds! Something must be working. :)

So not completely going all natural yet, but I have added a daily vitamin and I have found fish oil that is liquid and taste like lemon instead of fish!!!!! YAY!!!

Doc is happy with the weight loss. Doesn't want to stop BC at this point because we just got everything in balance. I will wait and see and do some more research on this.

A new direction

Really researching going more natural. I've already changed my life with exercise. I've made adjustments with diet - a few more to make, but one at a time is the best way. Now add in vitamins and suppliments and maybe get ride of drugs with side effects.

We shall see.

Back to Normal

Spent last week down due to acute bronchitis and a fever that spiked at a 105! But I am back to normal this week and have hit the gym everyday but tuesday and today. Hit spin class on thursday and it felt Amazing!

Now for today and tomorrow - 30 hour famine! 12:30pm today - 6pm Saturday no food and a lockin with the youth. CRAZY I know, but alot of fun and very moving God moments.

Wish me luck.

Great way to start a Week

So my workout buddy and I have been taking spinning class at 6 am thursday mornings for months now and this week we decided to add more in. So 5:30 Monday morning found us at the gym putting on our spin shorts and work out clothes. Tired from the superbowl party the night before, but none the less ready to kick the week into the right gear.

Different instructor, different workout, still feels GREAT! So Great we are going back tomorrow morning. BEST work out EVER.

Just to put it into perspective for 50 minutes of good music, heart pumping intensity, a dark room, and a buddy to keep me accountable this is what I get:

Stationary bicycle / spinning - vigorous 1,096
Stationary bicycle / spinning - moderate 676

Starting Over

OK - I'm back in the saddle. After months of stomache issues we finally have everything figured out: I have hypothyroidism, IBS, and PCOS. Know of which I'm willing to use as an excuse. But knowing the problems it is easier to do something about it. I'm on medicine for the thyroid, I stopped drinking all pop (soda) and that has helped tramediously with the IBS and I am watching for which foods set me off. The thyroid and my regular doctor I helping with the PCOS with diet and possible medicine.

This is a marathon not a sprint - with this montra I know I can keep from getting too frustrated. I have a buddy who works out with me everyday and we hold each other accountable. My roommate is going on the low-carb diet my doctor recommended with me and I know that will be a tremedous help. Then I know I have all of you to support me and lift me up. You have all been with me on this journey and I appreciate all your support.
