"Do Something" streak Day 3

What do I mean by "Do Something"?

I am keep the track of the days I "do something". I am not making it specific like walk or run a 1 mile or more, because that gets me in trouble. Stuff happens like tonight where it just was not possible for me to workout till 11 o'clock at night. I would love to go for a run, but it's just not safe for me to go out at this time at night. I do not have a treadmill and my gym is not a 24 hour one. So if I would have set my streak to specific I would have been SOL, but because I have it as "do something" I did the 7 minute workout on here - kicked my but only could do 2 out of the 3 circuits, but I feel great and I have complete day 3!!!

I'm not making a new year's resolution this year - nope I am going to continue on with my fitness and eating goals that I have been working on all year.  They are already turning in to habits and I am fine tuning them on a weekly, sometimes daily basis.   Some of that fine tuning is to "Do Something" and keep track of days in a row I do that for.

Who's with me?

My superhero Miss Jocelyn is having a lot of issues with her stomach.  She is also losing weight and she really can't be losing any more weight, so please keep her in your prayers!   And head over to her page and give her some love and hugs, tell her I sent you https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hope-for-Jocelyn/351637158314602

1/2 Marathon Recap and more

Wow, it has been too long since I gave an update.  I apologize!!!

Well to start I did run my second space coast 1/2 marathon - year 2 down 3 more to go!!!   Up until mile 8.5 I was keeping a pace that was in my plan to finish in under 4 hours, mile 9 I hit my wall (like normal), but was pushing through and only slowed down a minor bit.  By mile 10 I had a shooting pain up my leg through my ankle.  I'm not sure what that was all about, but because I was better by later that night I believe my shoes might be right at the end of their life.  I thought I had at at least another 100 miles on them, but I didn't let it stop me.  With my running buddy by myside and my I run 4 buddy Jocelyn in my heart and on my running gear I was bound and determined to finish the last three miles.  I ended up walking most of those last 3 miles instead of the run/walk/run that I normally do.  But I finished 4 hrs 19 min.  Slower than I wanted, but I finished and I finished "running" across the finish line which is mine and my running buddy's goal every time.   As I took that last step over the finish line both my calves went into charlie horses, thankfully two steps away there was a place to sit and calm them down.  I was able to and was able to walk back to the car.  My husband and my youngest step son where at the finish line to cheer me on.  It is so great to see and hear them to push in those last hundred feet or so.

On to the two races I am helping organize - one virtual and one local.

The first is the Virtual race.  It is for my woman's club, GFWC Sebastian River Junior Woman's Club. It is a virtual race - you run your distance, any where you want any time you want and earn a puppy paw print medal.  1/2 the money will go to my club to be used in our community, 1/2 the money will go to Canine Companions for Independence wounded warrior initiative.    See the flyer below.
Second race is the second annual Egg Scramble 5k that I co-organize www.eggscramble5k.com.  This will be held April 4th.  With bounce houses and an egg hunt for the kids after the race.  The money raised for this event goes to my church and to Promise in Brevard - "Our ultimate goal is to provide a much needed housing choice for our cherished family members with special needs. Because every person is different, Promise will have varying levels of support - based on individual needs. With a sense of independence long yearned for, Promise residents will have an inclusive, safe and fun place to live, among neighbors who care. Promise will also include vocational training and employment opportunities with on-site training and continuing education."

8 Days 23 hours!

We are in the final count down to 1/2 marathon day!  Getting very excited!! I love this course, it is by the water and has those old old trees that make a canopy over the road in places.

Had a set back with being sick for a week, but got out twice this week to get some mileage in.  For me it is about getting out there and doing it, to say to myself see look what you can do, how far you've come.  This was once just an item on a bucket list and now you are participating in your third 1/2 marathon! Set big goals, set minnie goals along the way to show your heading in the right direction, and do a happy dance as you cross that finish line!

For those that might be interested I am organizing a virtual race. Whats to great about a virtual race - you can go any distance any where any time you want and you get a medal!  To help those that just aren't sure we are pushing a special distance:  1 mile a day for 13 days or for 26 days to walk or run a half or full marathon!
Here are the details:

Jocelyn, #irun4jocelyn, is still having stomach issues that they are trying to figure out.  She is getting her hearing aids this week - which will be a big help in that department.  She is still smiling big every day! If you haven't checked out her page, please pop over there and tell them Alice sent you: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hope-for-Jocelyn/351637158314602

Crazyness of Life

So we had the boys all week.  It was crazy getting back into a school schedule again, been a few years, but also nice.  I managed to get more "stuff" done and some workouts in even with a crazier schedule.

I LOVED IT!

Now we are back to our normally scheduled schedules and it feels rather weird, and quite.

9 miles on the books for Sunday morning, and Haunted House opens on Friday!!!  So excited! Love this time of year.

I will post a flier later, but if you want to check us out go here: http://sebastianhauntedhouse.org/

Miss Jocelyn - her stomach is really bothering her again please keep her in your prayers.  Her team of doctors is also meeting so if you can keep them in your prayers for them to come up with a plan of how to go forward to help Jocelyn.

Another Step on the road to success

If you have been following my posts for while you know my desire to lift weights more consistently.  Well I have started something to help me with that and to make sure that I am able to do it correctly with little chance for injury.

Through the wellness program at work I have found a coach.  He use to be a power lifter and written an ebook and really about helping others be successful with their physical and wellness efforts.   We have had our first session, and tomorrow will have a second reviewing a video I took of what and how I currently lift.  We are going to start with the foundation and proper basics (always the best place to start).

I have to admit video tapping myself lifting was weird! I've never been much on being video tapped though, so that is nothing new.

I am very excited for this new step on the road to being successful.  This is always renewing my energy to refocus on my eating habits, which have slipped up a little over the last month.  Thankfully I am not as frustrated as I have been in the past with not getting results, and I haven't lost all my good habits I've been working on.   Each time I go through the frustration/restart cycle I seem not to slip back as far.  That in itself is a success.

Moving on and moving up!

Jocelyn update - her stomach is causing her a lot of pain again, please keep her in your prayers.  If you are interested in supporting Jocelyn and her fight please consider buying one of her hoodies.  The sale is open until october 10th.

It is Time, party Time!

Starting tomorrow I am on vacation .... well its my semi annual woman's weekend away for GFWC Florida.  It is a great time for all of us to get together from around the state and share what we've been up to.  I help run the AV for the weekend.  I love it! It keeps me busy and hopping all weekend, but I meet so many more wonderful ladies because of this.

Tonight I am trying to figure out how I am going to get my long run in ... haven't decided if I am staying up and running late tonight or getting up early and running in the morning.  Which ever I choose I have decided I am getting my run in.  I know missing on long run won't upset my training by any means, but it just will make it that much harder to stick to the training plan when I return.  Returning from vacations can already make the difficult enough.

Egg Scramble race organization is fully up and running!  We have the domain name eggscramble5k.com for the next 3 years.  Check out the webpage.  Registration will open in October and we will have team prices and awards again this year.

Jocelyn Update - she is having a lot of trouble with her tubes, and her stomach is causing her lots of pain.  Please keep praying for her.

In full swing

Training is in full swing!  Got in 7.3 miles this weekend.  Feels amazing.  Ok yes my body is sore, but to be out there and pounding out those miles again, I just can't believe it sometimes.   I remember as a young person dreaming of just going out and running forever, running a 1/2 marathon - and now I am and have.

As another year comes to a close I choose to focus on all I have accomplished.  And I look forward to what this year will hold for me.  There are prayers between God and myself and I leave them up to his timing.  I fully trust that he has a plan and that when it is right my prayers will fall into place in his plan.  Until then I will do my part and train on.

Please keep Jocelyn in your prayers, she has to go back to the hospital on Thursday and her j-tube and g-tube are causing all sorts of problems.

Happy Monday, may it be filled with many blessings.

Training and busy time of year

Exciting time of the year in my house hold.

First off finished the month of 6.2 miles and now move into the month of 9.3 mile training runs.  We have found a new running friend from our Mother's Run This Town.  She is at our same pace and will be running the Tower of Terror 10 miler soon - so perfect time to join us training!

This weekend, Labor day weekend = Haunted House building time!!!  Yes its the time of year again! Love this time.  It means the weather is going to start getting cooler - well "cool" meaning not almost in the 100's every day! :)  It means watching a flat piece of land grow in to rooms and doors - all with the purpose of frightening people that pay for the privilege!

This is the GFWC Sebastian River Junior's biggest fundraiser of the year.  We are known in the community for this and by this all the other things we do - light up night, national night out, touch a truck, and both the fourth of July and Christmas Parades.   I love belonging to this amazing group.

It is also when we bring in alot of our Juniorettes.  The 12 - 18 year olds.  They help from the building and the acting and then they are hooked.  They realize volunteer groups can be fun and the impacts that they have.   Love that I get to help show them that.

Jocelyn update - chemo went well and she is at home having play dates and swimming.  She has to go back in next Wednesday and stay over night to have the surgery that takes the bacteria out of her stomach.  Her body does not process food so this bacteria builds up and she has to periodically have it removed.  While they are in there they will also take a biopsy of her liver - her numbers are elevated and they need to see what is going on.

If you feel so lead, there is 4 hours left (its 8:49 est time right now) to order a shirt to help support Jocelyn.  She needs to sell 18 more shirts.  This is the link: https://www.booster.com/hopeforjocelyn?utm_source=FTSBemail

May your day be filled with many blessings

Doing Well

Still not checking the scale.  Had a week and a 1/2 of bad eating, but I'm back on track.  I'm in full 1/2 marathon training mode.  Loving it! Last night got together for the first time with a new running partner that I met through the Moms Run This Town (MRTT) group I joined.  We both are the same pace, which made us feel better because the rest of the moms are at 9 -10 min/mile paces!

We just did a short 1.3 mile walk last night, but we talked the whole time! Its great to have another person to help push to get out there and work out.

Jocelyn news - please keep her, her family and her doctors in your prayers - she goes in today for chemo.  Her bones do not get any calcium and are very brittle.  The Chemo is suppose to help get calcium to her bones.  She goes in at noon today and will be there all week.

If you feel comfortable, please change your profile picture to the first picture below on facebook, to show you are praying for my superhero this week.

Happy Tuesday, may it be filled with many blessings.

away too long

Sorry for the absence.  No excuse just didn't log the time.  Right now I am trying an experiment of not looking at the scale.  I was starting to become obsessed checking a couple times a day, which is not healthy.  So for now, did not decided how long, I am just working on continuing to eat healthy (fruits and veggies and pea protein), and getting back into 1/2 marathon training.

Yes you read that right 1/2 marathon training.  I am running the Space Coast 1/2 marathon again this year on November 30th with my running partner.  I am very excited to be running this race again, though I'm finding it a little difficult to find the motivation to train as much as I did last year.  However I am working on that.

It does help that I have my I run 4 buddy Jocelyn.  I don't make excuses.  There are times I still do not get out, but then it is just I didn't, not I didn't because.   She has to get a boot on her foot as she tore some ligaments :(.  She starts Chemo on August 19th.  I sent her a special box with a special something to wear to match something I have (I will share once she receives the package).

The picture below is for Jocelyn and to keep the prayer chain going strong.  Please take a moment to send a prayer up for my superhero.  This young lady smiles every day and lives life to the fullest - even when her stomach bothers her, even when she can't put pressure on her foot and knows she has chemo coming up.  She is an amazing example on how to live each day.

I have something special that I will be doing for the wellness initiative at work coming up in the next month or so, when I can share I will post.  I'm very excited about it.  Happy Wednesday, may it be filled with many blessings.

hot and sweaty again

Finally got back out there and ran this morning.  It has been too long since my last run and my body let me know in no uncertain terms it wasn't happy with the long delay!  It was bery warm and muggy this morning.

The one think I like abouty route is once i start there is no stopping.  It is a 3.1 mile loop.  If need be I can call to be picked up, buy on a morning like this I am still out running when mynhusband leaves for work. And there is no chamce of waking my step daughter up, who only went to bed a few hours before!! So its.suck it buttercup and kick it in gear.  Yes I told myself this a few times this morning.

Thankfully I had another push - Jocelyn had her surgery this week amd it went well and thisrun let me eran our 5k mermaid medals for us.

Happy Friday,  may it be filled with many blessings.

Sorry for the absence

Good Morning!
Sorry for the absence!! Life got away from me.  Weight wise I'm maintaining, refocusing on what I'm eating and reincorporating weight lifting into my workout.  1/2 marathon training starting up this week for the Nov 30th 1/2.
  Measurements are down again!!

Two great things to share - yesterday I got to present the Check from the 5k I helped organize to our beneficiary Promise in Brevard!!! What a great feeling (picture below).   Second played in the 4th of July parade again this year, only this year I played the drums (instead of my normal clarinet!!!).  Below you find a video of one of the songs we played.

Happy Thursday, may it be filled with many blessings!

Update on Miss Jocelyn

So last night Jocelyn had an overnight EEG, this is what the doctor said:

"Well the doctors just came in the good thing is when buddy feels weird it is not a seizure so they feel it's all sugar related and her pupils are very dilated but her seizure didn't change because she did have a seizure last night but it was her normal seizure"

She is now on her way back home and hopefully getting some much needed rest.  If you haven't already please go over to her page and like it - they are trying to reach 2,000 likes.  Hope For Jocelyn

I ran the watermelon Festival run this weekend - it was hot, humid, and hilly just as expected.  The interval training I have been doing is paying off.  Last year I ran the race in 51min this year I ran it in 50:37.  Every race is showing some improvement from the year before - that is the only thing I compete against.

I'm trying to get into 1/2 marathon training - 156 more days to go until year 2 of the space coast 1/2 marathon.  I am very excited to be running this again with my running buddy Feather.  However these afternoon sever thunderstorms are not helping get over my procrastination!  So for now I smile and enjoy the rain drops from inside and do some crunches and some stepper.

Here is a picture from the run this weekend, just past a mile in:

Wake up today is the day!

Ok My sister is going to be up before I am and I want her to see these two other motivational signs.

I LOVE YOU Crissy!!! And I am so proud of you.  Knock #2 1/2 marathon out of the park.  #teamuttech!

Day two of virtual signs

Good Morning! If your following along - my sister is running the Duluth, MN Grandma's 1/2 marathon tomorrow!!!!  If you've been watching the news MN has been getting a lot of rain - please pray for nice weather for the run.

Here is virtual sign number two for Crissy and all those others who are running the 1/2 and full marathon tomorrow:

Virtual Cheer Squad

Good Morning!

Ok first weigh in information - I stayed the same.  After the last two weeks I have had I am ecstatic about that.  In the past weeks like these last two would have meant certain gain of at least 5 pounds of more. So staying the same is HUGE!!! Plus I'm still down 15lbs.

Ok on to the fun stuff.  As I said yesterday my sister is running her second 1/2 marathon, and as I found out earlier this year your second, for some reason, is alot harder than your first.  Now we live many states apart so it is rare for us to be able to run together or be there to cheer each other on - so starting today through Saturday when she runs I am going to post a virtual Poster to cheer her on.   If you would also like to cheer her on you can leave comments here or on my facebook link to this post.  I will make sure she sees them.  If you would like to post your own virtual sign post a picture on facebook or instagram using the tag

#teamuttech

If you want to go a step further you can track her:
If you want to track her while she is running the Gary Bjorkland half marathon this Saturday, just click the link below
Click the very top that says register to receive text messages.
"Let me know if you are tracking, it will give me extra motivation "

Her name is Christine Uttech.

I know there are also others of you who are running the Duluth, MN Grandma's marathon and 1/2 marathon.  Please take these virtual signs and cheers for yourself as well - just like you would if you were passing on the course and saw the signs.

Update on Jocelyn - She had her bone scan yesterday and should hear results either today or tomorrow.  Positive they were able to get the IV in on the first try!! News to pray about her stomach is still giving her alot of pain and she is still losing weight.

Happy Thursday! May it be filled with many blessings.

NSV - acronym defined inside

I live in a world of Acronymns, so it was only a matter of time before it made its way into my posts. :)

NSV - Non-Scale Victory.  So along with the Jeans that I fianlly fit into, I was also in a smaller t-shirt this past weekend!!!  Then to top it off, without watching or having much control over what was served to me I maintained my weight loss!!!!

So it's not weigh in day, but I'm excited to see what this week brings.  I finally made it in for an eye appointment today - my eyes are healthy and my eyes stayed the same.  I was in desperate need of new glasses though, as mine broke last week.  New pair will arrive next week - I will post a picture when that happens.

I have a race this Saturday - Hot, humid, and HILLY 5k! This ill be my 3rd (or 4th) time running this race.  Its exciting since we get to run it with family.  Even more exciting my sister is running her Second Half Marathon!!! At Gradma's up in Duluth, please pray for her successful completion of this race.  Good Luck TEENY!!!

IRUN4 Jocely Update - she has to have bone scans tomorrow to make sure she doesn't have cancer in her bones.  She has been having lots of trouble with her stomach and they will be putting in a g-tube to vent in, but not for a few weeks so pray for relief from that.  Also her sugar plummets to 40-50 any time she does anything physical - so pray, pray pray.

Motto for the hills and heat this Saturday, and shout out to my sister for her race.  I know you've got this Teeny, I'm so proud of you!!!!

Long Long week, but success!

We are under a very tight deadline this week for work.  What does that mean for me? That means 12 - 14 hour days, even working this past weekend.  Had a lot of bumps in the road, but I have had success and it looks like meeting that deadline is going to happen. :)

I will not weigh in this week.  I have done well on eating right even with these crazy hours, but for some reason my system never likes it.  So I'm and just taking the success that I know I ate the way I was suppose to and my clothes are still feeling looser.

I haven't gotten in any dedicated workouts in this week, but while working in the lab I've thrown in a few squats, some hamstring strengthening by using heels to pull self on chair across floor, and when needing to speak to someone walking to their desk instead of sending a message.   These are all successes in my book!

This weekend will be JASM - teenage girls all coming together to look back at the year of volunteering they've done and looking forward to next year.  It is a good time, but that is a lot of 12 - 18 year girls in a small area! :) Pray for my sanity and peace and patience.

Jocelyn update Hope for Jocelyn thank you to everyone who gave to her Hero Package from Gamerosity.

Happy Wednesday, may it be filled with many blessings.

Sorry for the Delay

Ok sorry for the delay folks.  We have switched to google at work and it is limiting my ability to log in and update you all.

So if you were paying attention to the tracker at the top of my page, because when i don't post you just come check out my page right? Well great news this week!!!!  With this weeks weight loss I am down a total of 15 pounds!!! ECSTATIC!!! Yu:p doesn't even come close to how excited I am about this.

I haven't been able to maintain the 5 am runs, but I have been getting in some heat training.  Which with the race on June 21st is very important.

Buddy/Coach/ I run 4 Jocelyn update: Jocelyn had to be admitted to the ER for her glucose test, they didn't want to wait any longer.  After a bunch of times being poked they found a good vein and she got through the test.  Now they wait 3 weeks for results.  They are also waiting to hear back because her GI doc and the surgery want to put in a G-tube to vent her stomach and keep the J-tube for the feedings.  Please Please keep her in your prayers.  What to show her your praying for her?  She has a page about her journey and they see each like as a prayer warrior.  They are trying to get to 2000 likes.  Think you can help her reach this goal?  If you've already liked her page please share it with your prayer warriors.  Here is the page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hope-for-Jocelyn/351637158314602  she is currently at 1775 likes.

On another good news front, its the beginning of the month, you know what that means??? Measurments!!! And you guessed it they are down again!!!!  Even better this months biggest measurement change ......... the chest!!!  WAHOOO!!! Ok if you know me you know the big deal that truly is.  If you don't know me that well then just take my word for it - I have had times in the past of some weight loss and my chest actually got bigger!!!

Happy Thursday, may it be filled with many blessings.

Today's picture shows Jocelyn at the hospital in a shirt she had made for us - in case you can't read it - it says: My heart (in the heart says Jocelyn) belongs to Alice and her feet belong to me.  It makes me smile every time I see it!  She has stolen my heart!

Happy Friday

I am taking a mental health day today.  I don't do this often, but so far it is feeling great!!  I didn't weigh in this week, so we will just have to wait for next week.  However I am feeling great and my clothes are getting looser and looser.
I am running in a free 5k tomorrow for heart health.  Looking forward to a race with other people again.  I've been doing a lot of virtual races, which are awesome!, but you miss the camaraderie of other racers.

Happy Friday, may it be filled with many blessings

Update on Jocelyn: She is still not doing well so they are seeing the GI doctor at CHOP today, so please pray.

Great Start to Memorial Day Weekend

We hit the bridge for a Virtual 10k to support our troops run.  It was hot, humid, and hilly.  Which was the goal.  What!? Yeah I know I prefer the coolness of 5am much better.  However in one month I will be in Monticello to run the Watermelon Festival 5k.  The race does not start until 8:15am! So it is hot, humid, and it is very hilly up there.  You even end at the top of a hill.  So I must prep - and today was a great way to start that.

Then after cooling down a bit I head to the farmers market.  Picked up so great veggies and some corn - can't wait for dinner! I also stopped by Sweets Revenge booth and picked up cupcakes that taste like Butterbeer from Harry Potter.  I've done all week that I was going to partake in this indulgence - and it was oooohhhh so worth it!! Now I'm back on track with veggies and no sugar :)

Can we top that? Oh yes we can!! My husband got his truck working!! We are back to being a two vehicle family!!!

Oh wait there is more! :) My van had the blower motor go out over four years ago, that equals no air.  Well when my husband and I started dating he was able to fix it so that it started blowing air again, however it was really really loud.  But hey I had air, which in Florida is way better than the no air I had been dealing with for about a year.  Well he surprised me today and fedex delivered a new blower motor - and he went right out and put it in.  He just had me come test it out.  You cannot hear the air at all!!!!  I'm over the mood excited!!  I know it seems like a very small thing, but it is wonderful surprise that he did for me.

Ok enough gloating on the husband.

Jocelyn is having a pretty good day, but as always please keep her in your prayers.

Happy Saturday may it be filled with many blessings.

The picture today is in honor of my nephews 6th birthday yesterday.  I love you DREW MAN!!!

Feeling awesome

Had one day down and them was right back at it this morming.  5am 5ks are still going strong.  Plan is to hit the bridge tomorrow morning for bridge trainkng. We are one month out from the Monticello watermelon fest I 5K.  Its the hottest, hillest run I do all year.  I plan on PRing this year, which means I've got to get the hills in.  Only day for this right now is Saturday because we are still carpooling.

Yup one vehical is still down.  We got the next part to try last night and we will see what happens.  Please pray that this is the part.

The bathroom is dry and has had two coats of protection and mildew killer put on.  Next will be primer and paint for water areas.  Fun fun fun.  Thankfully my husband is a very handy man and has been an!e to do all these fixes himself!

Update on Jocelyne - she is working hard at pt and the doctors are working hard and finding out why she is losing weight.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Happy Friday, may it be filled with many blessings.

Thursday, May 22, 2014

good day with one dissapointment

Disappointment - couldn't get up and do my 5am 5k today,  had stomach issues that required I take the extra hournof sleep. However I will be back at it tomorrow! :-)

Good news - down another 1.6 pounds!

Please keep Jocelyn on your prayers. Shes lost weight (which is not good) and she had a seizure yesterday.  They are running tests and waiting for answers.

Happy Thursday,  may it be filled with many blessings.

And it Comes in Threes

Ok I know today is suppose to be weigh in day, but we've had another issue and my morning routine was all jumbled.  Last night we discovered that the shower in our bathroom is leaking! Thankfully my husband is very handy! We are in the process of tearingnout the wall behind the shower and will have to fix pipes.  Oh as well as keep working on the truck which is still not up and running yet.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Happy Wednesday! May it be filled with many blessings.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Sorry I did not post yesterday, got up in the morning and walk/ran a 10k for the Virtual Mother's day 10k for Jocelyn!! Longest run since the 1/2 marathon in February.  It was rough, but I'm back in training mode. Mimaw came and walked the 2nd half with me, it was nice to have the company.

Jocelyn's fever is gone, but her J-tube has been leaking and has been giving her a lot of pain.  Please keep her in your prayers.

And now to top off the pictures or Mother's day, I love you all!:

Thank Goodness its FRIDAY!!!

Wahoo! We made it, day 5 of 5 am 5ks!!!  I have a virtual 10k on the books for tomorrow!  I am doing the first 5k of it first, then picking up the mimaw and the paul for the second 5k.  It should be fun!

Do you know what day it is? That's right, measurement day!  Results are still on the downward track! :)

IRUN4 buddy/Jocelyn: The fever is back :(  Pray, pray, pray to help her return to normal.  This is really tiring her out.

TBT Mother's day Style

Same old same old today - day 4 of the 5 am 5k is going well.  I am very tired, but I think my body is starting to adjust.  Its nice to have someone to get up early with and work out.

I promised a picture every day for Mother's day - so since it is Throw Back Thursday here is one of my Mom and Dad holding baby Abby and Baby Miles Jr.

Jocelyn has PT in the pool today, she is very excited.  They didn't keep her in the hospital (they try not to because if she catches anything it is very bad for her) and the antibiotics seem to be helping.  Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

Finally did it

So it was official weigh in this morning, a loss of 2.3 pounds!!!  Which is huge all by itself.  Then you add that I have busted the 10lbs lost mark, another huge success.  But wait there's more, does this sound like an infomercial yet?, I have been watching, and waiting and watching, to break below 260.  I was painfully going down by tenths of a pound ... then this morning 258.9! I not only broke below 260 I smashed it by 1.1 lbs!! I am happy dancing all day today!!!

These next two weeks the mimaw is with us (hubbys mom) so her and I have decided that each day, besides Sunday, we will get up at walk a 5k before I have to go to work.  That means 5am we walk out the door, so I can be back and showered in time to catch the carpool .i.e. the hubby to leave for work.  Needless to say my mornings are a little more rushed than I would like and I'm feeling pretty exhausted by the end of the day - but I wouldn't have it any other way.  I don't know where I would fit a workout in right now if I wasn't getting up, but with out her there I think my brain might find excuses to stay in bed. :) We finished day 3 today.   This Saturday I will walk the 5k with her and then I will do another 5k to make a 10k for the Mother's day virtual 10k for my buddy Jocelyn.

I am asking for extra prayers for Jocelyn as she had to go to the hospital yesterday evening.  Her fever went higher and her platelet counts are really low.  When Jocelyn gets sick her marrow is attacked.  This girl, she always finds a smile! She keeps me rolling.  There is no excuse I could ever come up with that could counter act her influence in my life.

Happy Wednesday, may it be filled with many blessings.

Tuesday - Pray for Jocelyn

Jocelyn got some results yesterday ... not the greatest, but it gives them more things to test.  I am asking for prayers for the fever to go away and her counts to go back up.

Mimaw and I have conquered day 2 of the 5 am 5k!  It feels good, I am tired, but glad we are doing it.

Here is the update from Jocelyn's page (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Hope-for-Jocelyn/351637158314602)

Buddy [Jocelyn] has to have a glucose test done the test is 5 hours long we will hear tomorrow when that will be done her body is not making glucose at all it took the doctor's 3 hours to come up with a plan they never saw this kind of sugar levels they are thinking about a insulin pump for during the day...while we were at CHOP buddy's [Jocelyn's] fever spiked to 102 so they sent us to the lab for a blood culture and a CBC the CBC came back and buddy's [Jocelyn's] white blood cell count is 2 it is supposed to be around 10 so they are really worried about that also her red blood cell count is only 8 so if it drops to 7 she will need a blood transfusion so hopefully it doesn't drop to 7

Happy Tuesday! May it be filled with many blessings.

In honor of Mother's day this Sunday - picture today is from a few year back of Mom and Dad with all there kids and grandkids at the time.

Uffta Back to Monday!

What a Crazy week! If you've been following the posts you know all about it.  We are still down one vehicle.  We are awaiting a part that hopefully will fix the problem.  So this week is more morning time with the hubs on the drive in.

We also have the Mimaw with us for the next two weeks and her and I made a plan, each morning we are getting up before I have to leave (which means 5 am) and we are walking a 5k.  Its great to have someone to workout with at that hour of the morning.  However, I am feeling a bit tired this afternoon.  I have a bag of nuts for an afternoon snack that will hopefully give me a little more energy.

Other than that life is going back to its normal routine.

Update on IRun4 buddy Jocelyn (including pictures):
She is back at CHOP today to have the glucose monitor taken out, and hopefully get some answers.  Then Tuesday and Thursday back for PT! Thursday is Pool time PT!   She woke up with a fever today - please pray that this goes away - fevers are a very scary thing in her world.  They can mean hospital says.

And the much awaited Prom pictures:

Happy Monday! May it be filled with many blessings!

Making Memories Kind a Week

Oh man this has been a crazy week of making memories.

So the radiator on my van was leaking, so the hubby removed it and ordered a new one (love that he can do this!).  This left us to carpool all week.  We leave close to the same time and work near evaporating ying ch other so it is manageable.  We each had to adjust our schedules and teerrst our flexibleness - but we made it and chose to enjoy the rare extra time we got together.

Then we make it to Thursday night and its time to go get the  mimaw.  We make it as far as orlando and the truck starts snacking and jumping .. needless to say we didnt make the rest of the 4 hour journey.  We took a tow truck ride back home.

This was extra disappointing because minaw was coming down to see her oldest grandchild graduate with her AA before even graduating high school.  Thankfully my phone has skype and we arranged to have the video call so mimaw could watch the graduation live.

So we get to Friday night. We make it to the stadium, sit down and it proceeds to pour!  Oh well we were seared and the show must go on.  I got the phone up and running, even remembered my portable battery charger, and we got the video chat up with mimaw.  my ohine with back up battery worked perfectly and she was able to watch Chris walk across the stage and receive her diploma. :-) it meant the world to both of them.  As it brought memories back of my gram being at my graduation.

We figured out the bout of soaking rain, that eventually stopped, were tears from Chris's Papa watching from Heaven.  He idolized his little Christine Angel and he would have been so proud of her!  She has changed her families history by just stepping across that stage.

Her dad and I couldn't be more proud of her and all.she's accomplished.

Update on IRUN4 buddy Jocelyn: she had a great time at prom (I will post pictures next post), her sugars are still aall over the place. Like 140 down to 40 - if you've lived with or area diabetic you know how draining and tiring this can be.  please keep praying for her and that going through this with the glucos monitor will give them answers.

Happy Saturday, may it filled with many blessing.

No Weigh in This Week

Ok I knew this week would be a no weigh in week - instead I had a goal of making it through the weekend following my plan.  Success! I did what I planned and I can't ask for anymore, and I don't want to ruin it if the scale is up because I was part of a big group dinning and didn't have a say in what was served.  So weigh in will have to wait until next week.

What was so special about this weekend?   It was the GFWC Florida Convention weekend! Where all the GFWC groups around the state gather and celebrate the things we've accomplished in our communities over the year.

Its late (early mornings) to bed, to then rise early to start the next day.  It is laughter and new memories with ladies we spend our year with and ladies we only see twice a year at the convention.  Its a time for all of us to let go of our home responsibilities and let our hair down for the weekend.

For your viewing pleasure, pictures from the weekend:

Update on buddy Jocelyn (I Run 4 Jocelyn!) - she is doing ok, her sugar is up and down a lot, hopefully the glucose monitor will provide answers.  Tonight she is going to PROM! She is super excited, I can't wait to see pictures.

Happy Thursday, may it be filled with many blessings!
